Dr.Fortier Bernoville. suggesting us following notes on Homeopathic Treatment, if your liver is effected and you are suffering from  Jaundice.

JAUNDICE, BENIGNANT AND INFECTIOUS

Benign and infectious jaundice is caused by the penetration of microbes in the biliary ducts.

The infection may be of ascending origin (Colibacilli, Eberth's bacillus), or of sanguin origin and may be very frequent. It often happens that the hepatic infection is primary manifestation of infectious state and jaundice then sees to be primitive.

According to the seriousness of infection, we may have three varieties of benignant infectious jaundice.

      1. Very benign infectious icterus, manifests itself by some digestive troubles, anorexia, thirst, nauseous condition, general weakness and uneasiness. Objectively a very slight icterus may be noted, which may be very clearly seen on the conjunctivas, temperature may remain normal.

      2. Catarrhal Icterus. After prodromic phase of very benignant icterus, gradually clear symptoms of jaundice are seen. The tongue is white, bitter taste in the mouth, more or less discoloured stools, the urines are foamy, of mahogany colour and contains some salts and traces of albumin, the temperature rises from 38 degree C to 38.5 degree C. for a few days. In spite of the temperature the pulse in slow. The liver and the spleen are slightly enlarged in volume. The skin may be the seat of intense pruritis.

      3. If the condition aggravates still more, the temperature may rise from 30 degree C to 40 degree C there is chill, restlessness, headache, epistaxis. The liver as well as the spleen are voluminous. The urine is rare and abundant; there is at the sametime azotemia. This conditions may remain from two to three weeks and the convalescence may begin with a change in the urine. This form always follows with a long convalescence with great emaciation. Infectious icterus with not a high temperature, at the beginning, is very difficult to differentiate from grave icterus, having such a symptomatic picture.

One must be very careful in his diagnosis.

In the presence of such and such clinical picture what remedies the homoeopath may think of? We are going to pass them in review without being able to give a list for each of the varieties mentioned above, because the same remedy may be used in any one of the different cases.
